Duality

Just got back from a cruise with my wonderful girlfriend! Figured I'd share a poem I wrote about us at the beginning of our relationship. Oh and here is a picture of us enjoying a bar by the beach!

Duality

Like rose petals that transport a blissful fragrance
Your kisses are sent with the utmost magnificence

The emotions that arise when you are near
Is comparable to that of conquering one's fear

A fear to be involved in this duality,
But to overcome the obstacles and survive reality

To live amongst all that surrounds
Not afraid of the pointless stress abounds

Simply happy with immense satisfaction
To relish in harmony beyond ration

Verse First Poem (I Am Not Relative)

This is my first Verse First poem. Hope you all enjoy! It's called:

I Am Not Relative

Look into my eyes,
Not at the lies
Beyond this disguise

Past the mask the multitude wears
That is conformity everyone shares

I am not relative

I am unique
Because of what I think

Thoughts and feelings that are my own
Bundled together as ideas, not shown

What makes you, you

Is not what makes me, me
So why think of people relatively

Nerves

 Um.... what should I say?
Encumbered by nerves, while courage strays

In the presence of saccharine beauty
Vacuous words escape arbitrarily

This foolish verbose falls on appreciative ears
As a symphonious giggle slips, the conversation steers

Confidence perks up a bit
She genuinely smiles,
With eyes now lit

Thoughts are bouncing around my brain
“Perhaps she'll say yes”, so I steady my aim

With focus on the approaching goal
Every part of the brain now taking a poll

Outweighing every option
Considering all outcomes

Heartbeat halts and I grit my teeth
Letting out the words, almost to scared to speak

She ponders the thought, while time lingers on
Regardless of the answer, I must be strong

Our eyes meet; a decisions been made,
Now her smile shines as if diamonds were inlaid

First ever blog post!

Hello world! My name is Sean and I am a first-time blogger. Never done anything like this before nor did I ever have the inclination to do so, but today I had an "itch" to share my poems and connect with the world. This here marks my first ever blog post, so I have to make it memorable.

This poem means a lot to me, while it isn't particularly amazing, it has sentimental value. This poem was the first one I ever shared, which in turn, gave me the confidence to start showing others.

Shower

Water beads ricochet off my chest
Forthcoming is my sweet surrender of rest

Washed clean are my sins, the filth and the grime
Repeating mistakes fill the unending void of time

Sorrow and regret amass my day to day
These gentle drops send them away

Will this unsettling repetition ever be broken?
Or will my shower be the only time I'm truly awoken
