Do you hear the sound?
Abounding, resounding, all around
Enveloping your mind in this trance
Mesmerized from this "quick" glance
They fall, they plop; raindrops
Plummeting towards the earth, then stop
As if sent in a way to create a tune
Calming my mind, a glorious boon
And now as the rainfall subsides
I reflect on the peace that it provides
Abounding, resounding, all around
Enveloping your mind in this trance
Mesmerized from this "quick" glance
They fall, they plop; raindrops
Plummeting towards the earth, then stop
As if sent in a way to create a tune
Calming my mind, a glorious boon
And now as the rainfall subsides
I reflect on the peace that it provides

It is a lovely peaceful sound, rain falling on a pond....I love hearing that.
ReplyDeletethere is def something stilling about the sound of rain....
ReplyDeleteor the smell of fresh earth right after...
I totally agree! I sat by my window (pictured above) and the words just came to me. Such a relaxing and calming sound!
ReplyDeleteYour poem sounds as musical as the rain's pitter patter.
ReplyDeleteThe words dropping in the heart create the same music and calmness...a wonderful write up..
ReplyDeleteI like the pattering rhythm and rhyme in your poem that brings a similar calm.
ReplyDeleteIt was not intentional either! I wrote with the rain and the flow of words was therapeutic to say the least!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
ReplyDeleteIt was just lovely reading your poem. We are just cleaning up after a big winter storm. Snow for us and it doesn't sound quite the same as rain.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a huge fan of the rain....snow not so much! Good luck with the clean up! Happy you enjoyed the poem!
